This album documents a band in the early stages of a now-storied career
It showcased the trademarks for which Cursive has now become known: complex yet lyrical melodies and angular guitars, a heady mix of hushed and noisy dynamics, and Kasher\u2019s incisive, confessional lyricism and singular voice \u2014 which\u00a0Pitchfork<\/em>\u00a0would later describe as \u201ca more earnest, volatile, emotionally charged voice cannot be found<\/em>\u201d.

Such Blinding Stars For Starving Eyes first vinyl pressing came out on 9 September 1997.
It was a split release by Crank! A Record Company and Interplanetary Trucker’s Union.
The album introduced the Omaha, Nebraska based band to the world and was the entry point for a devoted following that remains reverential over 25 years later.

In 2017, Cursive announced plans to reissue remastered versions of their first two albums in celebration of the 20th anniversary of both albums. Both releases arrived in stores on December 1, 2017 via their own newly formed label, 15 Passenger.

Remastered by Ed Brooks (Pearl Jam, Fleet Foxes, Mastodon;\u00a0The Ugly Organ remaster) from the original tapes, the vinyl remastered edition is limited to 2,000 copies and printed on a 180-gram, two-color record. \u201cSuch blinding stars\u201d was released on\u00a0blue with a white starburst pattern.
The\u00a0reissue features a foreword written by Tom Mullen of\u00a0Washed Up Emo<\/em>.
